oh, please

“I haven’t eaten red meat for 40 years. I wish I could give up chicken (except free-range) but then I’m down to fish which seem a) tainted, and b) endangered. By the way, I don’t not eat meat mainly for health reasons but also because I had an epiphany walking through Les Halles at the age of 23 that eating meat is disgusting, arrogant, oblivious and unconscionably cruel. Moving on … I try increasingly to eat only organic veggies and fruit.” - Candice Bergen (via vegetarianstar.com)

there isn't one bit of this that doesn't make me question everything about candice.  is she delusional? does she really think she is a vegetarian when she eats meat?

it's amazing how a few sweet little words and a smile can lighten up your day.

today was one of those difficult days where i felt like giving up.  and, for me that's pretty bad; i'm a positive person.  the glass is always half-full.  though today was really rough.  i wanted to give in so many times and just quit.  but the minute that little girl of mine sees me, smiles big and wide, and runs over to say "hi, mommy.  i missed you"--wow! that just erases everything else.

march 1

lots going on in my neck of the woods.  lots of thinking, planning, hoping and dreaming.  sometimes i think i'm spinning my wheels other times i think it's progress.  we, humans, are so funny.

last night i went to a friend's house for a lovely dinner of delish thai food and fire spinning.  have you seen this?  i wasn't quite sure what to expect.  but i absolutely loved the fire dancing.  who knew?  it was a lovely, lovely night.  the best part was seeing this group in a new light.  they were all so giving--giving of their talents, presents, and laughter.  i wish every night was like that.
